Can you believe it will be 20 years since the Greek God of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan made his film debut? The actor, who was a child star, made his first-ever appearance as a leading man in the film ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’. Not only did the film become an instant hit, but it also established Hrithik as a national heartthrob. Following the film’s success, for which he earned Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Male Debut, the hunk went on to star in a wide range of films that best showed off his versatility as an actor. From ‘Fizza’ to ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ and action-packed films like ‘Dhoom 2’, the ‘Krrish’ series and of late even the biopic ‘Super 30’, Hrithik has proved he can do it all with ease.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Following in her big sister, Karisma Kapoor’s footsteps, Kareena Kapoor also forayed into the film industry with the film ‘Refugee’. Since then, there has been no turning back for the beauty to went on to capture hearts and set major fashion trends as she took over the big screen with films like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Chameli’, ‘Omkara’, ‘Heroine’ and ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ among others. ‘Refugee’ not only marked the debut for actress Kareena Kapoor Khan but also featured Amitabh Bachchan’s son, Abhishek Bachchan for the first time on the big screen. Apart from pursuing his acting dreams and working on a variety of projects, Abhishek has also turned owner of a Kabaddi team.
Uday Chopra made a promising debut in the musical romantic drama, ‘Mohabbatein’, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles. The actor won appreciation for his supporting role and later featured in films like the ‘Dhoom’ franchise and even bagged roles in films like ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’, Neal ‘n’ Nikki among others. Although currently maintaining a low profile, the actor has now turned to film production.
Ameesha Patel was also another actress who got her dream Bollywood debut, with the film ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’. While the film catapulted her to instant success, it also opened the doors to a lot of opportunities.
