SHANGHAI: Chinese language synthetic intelligence firm Shanghai Zhizhen Clever Community Know-how Co Ltd, also called Xiao-i, has filed a lawsuit in opposition to Apple Inc, alleging it has infringed on its patents.
The corporate is looking for 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) in damages and calls for that Apple stop “manufacturing, utilizing, promising to promote, promoting, and importing” merchandise that infringe on the patent, it stated in a social media put up.
Xiao-i argued that Apple’s voice-recognition know-how Siri infringes on a patent that it utilized for in 2004 and was granted in 2009.

The lawsuit marks the continuation of a row that has been ongoing for practically a decade.
Shanghai Zhizhen first sued Apple for patent infringement in 2012 concerning its voice recognition know-how. In July, China’s Supreme Folks’s courtroom dominated that the patent was legitimate.
