Dia Mirza trolled for crying at JLF 2020. Sasti Greta Thunberg, says Internet

That Dia Mirza broke down during a panel discussion on climate change at the Jaipur Literature Festival on January 27 is something that has displeased the internet to another level. Dia Mirza is one of the top trends on Twitter as a section of the internet is busy posting bile and filthy comments against her.

While addressing the audience, Dia began weeping profusely as she said, “Don’t hold back from being an empath. Don’t be afraid of shedding your tears. Feel it. Feel the full extent of everything. It’s good. It gives us strength. It does. And this is not a performance.” She also refused to take a paper napkin after being offered one.

Soon after the video of Dia went viral, netizens trolled the actress by invoking teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg.

“Sasti Greta Thunberg,” a comment read. Another user said, “Show her to doctor, mental doctor”. Some others were of the opinion that, “Somehow the empathy doesn’t kick in while she’s driving around in her diesel SUV.”

After the discussion, Dia was asked about the reason why she broke down and she said that the news of basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s death has left her disturbed.

“My day started really well yesterday (January 26). At around 3 (early morning), this news alert came on my phone for a very big player, NBA player who I followed for a while. His chopper crashing in California disturbed me. It really upset me. There are different things that upset us on different days, but we take care of ourselves. I was overwhelmed because my blood pressure was low,” Dia added.

Kobe Bryant and his 13-year old daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash in California on January 26.
