NEW DELHI: The ministry of finance on Saturday laid out particulars of the 2 choices introduced to states below which they will borrow from the market to make up for the estimated GST revenue shortfall of Rs 2.35 lakh crore this fiscal.
“The federal government of India is dedicated to implementation of the GST Act in letter and in spirit—in letter by adhering to the authorized provisions and in spirit by honouring the dedication made by the previous chairperson Shri Arun Jaitley in regard to the way of assembly the shortfall,” the federal government mentioned in an official assertion.
“In accordance with this dedication, sure choices for borrowing are introduced. The federal government will help extension of the Compensation Cess for such interval as could also be essential to utterly discharge any arrears of compensation,” it added.
