Record of auctioning of coal mines revised, 38 coal blocks to be auctioned for industrial mining | Financial system Information

New Delhi: The Ministry of Coal on Thursday introduced revision within the listing of mines to be auctioned for industrial mining, stating that now 38 blocks be auctioned as an alternative of 41 mines introduced earlier.

The revision within the listing consists of addition of three blocks Dolesara, Jarekela and Jharpalam-Tangarghat (in Chhattisgarh) and withdrawal of 5 blocks — Morga South, Fatehpur, Madanpur (North), Morga-II and Sayang (in Chhattisgarh).

The Coal Ministry made following revisions within the listing of coal mines:

  • Addition of Dolesara, Jarekela and Jharpalam-Tangarghat Coal Mines to the first Tranche of Public sale underneath the MMDR Act, 1957
     
  • Withdrawal of Morga South Coal Mine from the first Tranche of Public sale underneath the MMDR Act, 1957
     
  • Withdrawal of Fatehpur East,Madanpur (North), Morga-II, and SayangCoal Mines from the 11th Tranche of Public sale underneath the CM(SP) Act, 2015

“Subsequently, 38 coal mines are supplied for public sale for industrial mining underneath 11th Tranche of Public sale underneath CM(SP) Act, 2015 and 1st Tranche of Public sale underneath MMDR Act, 1957,” an official launch mentioned.

As a part of the initiative of opening up of the coal sector and introduction of economic coal mining within the nation, the federal government launched the public sale course of for 41 coal mines on June 18, 2020, for industrial mining underneath 11th tranche of public sale underneath CM(SP) Act, 2015 and first tranche of Public sale underneath Mines and Minerals (Improvement and Regulation) Act, 1957.
