  • Faf du Plessis’s coin toss reaction will leave you in splits
  • Faf Du Plessis is leading the Paarl Rocks in the ongoing Mzansi Super League 2019
  • du Plessis’s sister recently got married to his teammate Hardus Viljoen

What’s the most honest team news you have heard from a cricket captain at the coin toss? The ones which have more often than not come to notice are the ones where captains forget the names of the players who are being swapped in and out of the playing XI. But South Africa captain Faf du Plessis who is currently leading the Paarl Rocks in the ongoing Mzansi Super League 2019, left the host broadcaster presenter in splits with his extremely honest answer when asked about team changes for the game.

Ahead of the clash against Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at Boland Park, Paarl on Sunday, Du Plessis’ 35-year-old sister Remi Rhynners got married to Hardus Viljoen (who has represented South Africa in one Test), a day before the match. After losing the toss when du Plessis was asked the question, he replied by saying:

“Hardus Viljoen not playing today because he’s lying in bed with my sister as they got married yesterday.”

His reply left the presenter in a laughing frenzy. Here is a clip:

This is not the first time that the Paarl Rocks have attracted attention during South Africa’s domestic T20 league. Just last week, Tabraiz Shamsi, who is playing his trade for Paarl Rocks too caught the attention of cricket fraternity with one of the most unique wicket celebrations.

Shamsi, in videos going viral on social media, can be seen taking out a piece of cloth after taking a wicket. He then waves it and turns it into what looks like a ‘magic wand’ by completing his trick on the field.
