NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi’s “danda” remark, saying that ever since the Congress leader’s remark he has started to practice more “surya namaskars”.
“I heard an opposition MP saying — youth will beat Modi with sticks in six months. I have also decided — will do more Surya Namaskar. This will make my back even stronger to face abuses. In any case, I have been abused so much for the last 2 decades that I have become gaali-proof. Their negativity hardly matters,” PM Modi said while speaking during the ongoing discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in Lok Sabha.
The Prime Minister’s response came a day after Rahul warned that the youth of this country will “beat PM with sticks” over his failure to create jobs in the country.
“The PM won’t be able to come out of his home. The youth of this country will beat him up with sticks and will make him understand that this country can’t progress without providing jobs to the youth,” Rahul said.
When Rahul Gandhi got up to object, PM Modi retorted: “Mein itni dair se bol rahan hon.. current pahunchne mein itni der lagi. Many tubelights are like this. (I am speaking for such a long time. It took so long for the current to reach),” PM took another jibe at Rahul.
